The Book of Benefits in the Science of the Sea and Rules

This publication of is documentation of the great achievements of the Omani navigator Ahmed bin Majid as-Saadi. The documentation emphasizes his maritime expertise and creativity, focusing on his manuscript titled "The Book of Benefits in the Science of the Sea and the Rules." This manuscript, written in the 16th century CE (11th century AH), has been loaned from the al-Assad National Library of the Syrian Arab Republic to the National Museum since 2019 CE, which is part of the cooperation between the National Museum and the Ministry of Culture of the of the Syrian Arab Republic, in the context of the National Museum`s cultural diplomacy.

The publication consists of 722 pages and includes an introduction by Dr. Humid bin Saeed al-Nofli, an overview of the manuscript, details about its copies, the manuscript`s letters, and preservation methods. Additionally, it showcases the illustrated version of the manuscript along with its details.
