Assigned by HM, HH Sayyid Belarab Inaugurates Sultan Qaboos Corner at National Museum
Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Belarab bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said inaugurated the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s Corner at the National Museum’s Renaissance Gallery today.
The corner conveys different aspects of the personality of the late Sultan and his role as an icon of peace and friendly relations with various countries of the world. The corner highlights late Sultan`s birth and upbringing, his most prominent hobbies and interests, his university studies, his accession to the throne since the dawn of the Blessed Renaissance, his establishment of a state of institutions and law, his role in integrating heritage and modernity, his status as a symbol of wisdom and peace at the regional and international levels.
The Corner manifests a host of connotations and concepts that transcend the borders of this country. The edifice will portray the Sultan as a unique personality that highlighted his country and its cultural and civilizational values.
The official inauguration included selected music from the performance of the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra, and a brief visual presentation of the Corner, then the speech of the National Museum delivered by Jamal bin Hassan Al Moosawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum, followed by the inauguration of the Corner of Sultan Qaboos bin Said (the Dearest and Purest of Men).
