The launch of a book that sheds light on the biography of Sultan Ali bin Hamoud Al-Busaidi by the Bahraini Author Dr. Abdullah Al-Sulaiti, at the National Museum
Coinciding with the Bahraini cultural days in the Sultanate of Oman, the National Museum, represented by the Learning Centre, in cooperation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, held on Sunday 26 February 2023 CE a ceremony to launch the book “Sultan Ali bin Hamood from the Sultanate to Exile” and a lecture on the content of the book by Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Sulaiti at the headquarters of the National Museum, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Juma bin Ahmed al-Kaabi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman, and a group of writers and those interested in cultural affairs.
The inauguration ceremony included a speech by the researcher Nasser bin Abdullah al-Riyami, author of the book "Zanzibar Personalities and Events", then a speech delivered by Sayyida Maya bint Hamood al-Said, in which she shed light on the biography of Sultan Ali bin Hamoud al-Busaidi, followed by a lecture on the content of the book Sultan Ali bin Hammoud, from the Sultanate to Exile.
The book consists of the biography and life of Sultan Ali bin Hamoud al-Busaidi, the eighth Sultan of Zanzibar (reigned in 1902-1911 CE), by listing the details of his private, public and political life, from his birth and upbringing until his death.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad al-Sulaiti obtained a PhD in historical geography from Bursmith University in United Kingdom in 2009 and has many studies on the modern history of Bahrain and the Arab region.
