The Learning Centre at the National Museum concluded the Creative Imagination Program
The Learning Centre at the National Museum concluded the Creative Imagination Program, presented by Dr. Nasser Planji, Associate Professor in the Department of Fine Arts at the Scientific College of Design, with the support of BP Oman, with the participation of twenty students. The program consisted of (14) classes in two stages, the first at the museum headquarters, and the second through visual conferencing.
The aim of the program is to document Omani historical and heritage images and patterns, by integrating elements, patterns and lines to create contemporary artworks related to the collections presented in the museum, in addition to enhancing the participants` understanding of the composition of colours, composition and the effects of light, shapes and shadow, and introducing the methods of creative imagination to add an element of creativity in their artwork and developing visual awareness among participants. The program enabled participants to learn about creative imagination methods using collage techniques, which integrate images of Omani archaeological collections and other materials in different ways and methods of two and three dimensions that revive heritage and history anew.
The centre includes many facilities that represent an important resource for various educational programs, especially as they are centred around the holdings of the National Museum
