The National Museum Displays 2nd Edition of the Bible Presented to Late Sultan Qaboos
In the context of the Religious Understanding and Tolerance, the National Museum is honoured to display the second edition of the Bible in the Splendours of Islam gallery. The Bible was printed on February 29, 1960 CE, by the Pauline publishers, in the town of Harissa (Lebanese Republic) and presented to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said on April 2006.It is made of mother-of-pearl, coloured foil paper, hardpaper, and is printed in black and red ink.
This Bible was presented to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur by Gregorius III Lahamus, Emeritus Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, of Alexandria and Jerusalem, former spiritual leader of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church (at that time) on the occasion of his visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
