The panel discussion aimed to highlight the new market trends, pointing out to the link between the luxury and prestige culture of perfumery in Oman and France.
It is worth noting that the panel discussion is part of the cultural programmes accompanying the ‘Fragrant Journeys’ exhibition, which is a collaboration between the National Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon and dedicated to the culture of scent across ages, spanning ancient Egypt, the Greek and Roman civlisations, medieval Italy and France, the Indian civilization, the Japanese civilization, the European Renaissance and the Age of Enlightenment, and concluding with a masterpiece by Pablo Picasso. The Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon engaged its historical partner Givaudan and its perfumers in this exhibition, by creating special fragrances inspired by three works of art on display, to invite the visitor to live a unique sensory experience to approach certain works of art in the exhibition. Also, a special perfume was launched for Bayt Greiza under the name (Muscat- Paris) inspired by the scent of frankincense and the valley lily, a cooperation between Givaudan and Amouage. The ‘Fragrant Journeys’ exhibition was inaugurated on October 17, 2022, and will run till May 7, 2023, at Bayt Greiza.
