The National Museum hosts a symposium titled "Oman: The Paradise for Archaeologists” coinciding with the French Week 2022
The National Museum, represented by the Learning Centre with the support of BP Oman and in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, the French Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman and the French Centre for Research in the Arabian Peninsula, hosted on Tuesday March 22, 2022, a symposium titled "Oman: The Paradise for Archaeologists”, coinciding with the activities of the fourth edition of the "French Week", under the patronage of H.E, Eng. Ibrahim bin Saeed bin Khalaf al-Kharusi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Heritage, and with the participation of H.E, Véronique Aulagnon, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Sultanate of Oman, and a number of academics, researchers, students and those interested in the field of archaeological excavations.
The symposium highlighted the most prominent discoveries made by the French-Omani research teams, scientific publications and museum activities related to them, the development of research and the need to preserve archaeological sites and discoveries in the Sultanate of Oman.
The symposium included (6) working papers with the participation of a group of academics and researchers from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
