The National Museum inaugurated collection of memorabilia belonging to the veteran Omani international goalkeeper Ali bin Abdullah al-Habsi
The National Museum, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, inaugurated today, Wednesday, April 24, 2024, a collection of memorabilia belonging to the veteran Omani international goalkeeper Ali bin Abdullah al-Habsi. These belongings are being displayed for the first time and include his medal from winning the English Football Association Cup for the season (2012-2013) with his team, Wigan Athletic. Also, on display is the jersey he wore in the FA Cup final match held at Wembley Stadium on May 11, 2013, between Wigan Athletic and Manchester City, which ended with Wigan`s victory with a score of one goal to nil.
Through this, the National Museum aims to shed light on his inspiring journey as one of the prominent national symbols in the world of football, documenting his great achievements at the regional and international levels, and to be a source of inspiration for everyone, especially the youth, to achieve success through hard work and dedication to their country.
