The National Museum Inaugurates “From Stamp to Envelope: Narrating the Nation through the Postmark” Exhibition in Collaboration with Oman Post
The National Museum inaugurated the exhibition “From Stamp to Envelope: Narrating the Nation through the Postmark” on Thursday, September 18, 2025, in collaboration with Oman Post. The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim bin Said al-Kharousi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Heritage, and was attended by a number of dignitaries, including Eng. Badar bin Mohammed al-Nadabi, Chairman of the Board of Oman Post, as well as cultural and museological figures.
The exhibition features a wide-ranging collection of stamps, from rare issues of the 1960s that documented the first exports of Omani oil, to the latest editions celebrating the Blessed Renaissance and the nation’s achievements in education, health, the environment, and diplomatic relations, under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
From the archives of Oman Post to the galleries of the National Museum, visitors are invited to explore this unique collection, on display until 16 October 2025, which embodies a national memory handed down through generations.
