The National Museum inaugurates the exhibition "Islamic Civilization in Russia" and "The Hermitage Corner"
The National Museum inaugurated the exhibition “Islamic Civilization in Russia” and “The Hermitage Corner”, On Thursday, November 25, 2021, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammad al-Salmi, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs. Both the exhibition and the corner aim to highlight the civilisational influences of Islam in the Russian Federation.
The exhibits reflect the influence of Islamic culture through its architectural elements, ornaments, miniature preserves of the Noble Qur’an, amulets, and other rare and precious pieces. The exhibition highlights the Crimean Tatar language, which belongs to the Altaic language family with northwestern Turkish roots, and is the largest minority language in the Russian Federation in terms of the number of speakers.
