The National Museum issues a series of stories for children that embody historical Omani personalities
The National Museum has issued a series of stories under the title “The Sultanate of Oman in Time and Place”, which consists of (6) stories in Arabic, dedicated to children, that highlight important stages in the lives of historical Omani personalities who lived in different times and places between the second century AH and the 20th century CE.
The stories include approximately (35 pages) of medium size, decorated with imaginary drawings of these characters by the Syrian plastic artist, Lujaina al-Aseel, inspired by the documented historical information about these characters, and the storytelling was written by the writer and poet Bayan al-Safadi in an interesting style and in a language appropriate to the target age group. A group of employees of the National Museum and a group of researchers and writers participated in the follow-up process of the stories, with the generous support of (BP Oman).
By issuing this series, the National Museum seeks to introduce young generations to historical symbols that left their mark in the Omani history to be a source of inspiration and motivation for future generations, in addition to consolidating noble Omani values, and activating children’s belonging to their homeland, heritage and culture.
The series of stories is available for sale through the ticket outlet at the National Museum headquarters, at a price of (2) OMR for the story and (9,600) OMR for the collection.
