The National Museum launches website in Chinese language

The National Museum, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of China in the Sultanate of Oman, inaugurated on Thursday, November 30, 2023 a Chinese-language version of the National Museum`s website.

The inauguration ceremony was attended His Excellency Jamal bin Hassan al-Moosawi, Secretary- General of the National Museum, Her Excellency Ambassador Li Lingbing, the accredited Ambassador of the People`s Republic of China to the Sultanate of Oman, and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al-Hosni, the Head of the Asia and Pacific Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to number of officials and individuals interested in the cultural aspect.

The ceremony included a special tour for guests through various galleries of the National Museum, such as the Maritime History Gallery, the Land of Frankincense Gallery, Splendours of Islam Gallery and Oman and the World Gallery, introducing them to distinctive artefacts that embody the longstanding Omani-Chinese relations throughout history.

The launch of the Chinese-language version of the National Museum`s website is part of enhancing cultural cooperation between the National Museum and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China. This initiative serves as a window for Chinese speakers among tourists and residents to explore the cultural heritage of Oman across successive historical periods, contributing to the revival of cultural and museum tourism in the Sultanate of Oman in general and the National Museum in particular. It represents an opportunity to introduce the vital role of the museum and its important events and diverse activities.
