The National Museum organised a cultural program celebrating Omani-Somali relations
Represented by the Directorate General of Museums Affairs, the National Museum, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in the Sultanate of Oman and the Omani Historical Society, organized a cultural program today, Monday, 1st July 2024, to celebrate Omani-Somali relations. The event is part of the celebration of Somali National Day.
The event was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abu Bakr Jilani Sheikh, Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Endowments of the Federal Republic of Somalia, along with several dignitaries, businessmen, and individuals interested in cultural and historical affairs from both Omani and Somali sides.
The program included the presentation of a series of research papers. The first paper titled `Historical Relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Federal Republic of Somalia` was presented by Sayyid Abdul Wahab bin Suleiman al-Busaidi, a researcher in Omani-Somali relations history. The second paper titled `Significance of Trade Relations between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Sultanate of Oman` was presented by Counsellor Bashir Sheikh Mahboub, Acting Charge Affairs of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
