The National Museum Organises a lecture on The Archaeological and Valorisation Activities of the University of Naples in Wadi Bani Khalid in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism
The National Museum, represented by the Learning Centre and in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, organised a lecture titled “The Archaeological and Valorisation Activities of the University of Naples in Wadi Bani Khalid: New Findings Following the 2025 Season”. The lecture was delivered by Professor Romolo Loreto, Associate Professor at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” in the Republic of Italy, and was attended by a number of history and archaeology specialists and enthusiasts, as well as museum staff.
During the lecture, the speaker presented the results of the excavations at the Aqar Zaidah site in Wadi Bani Khalid, which revealed a diverse range of archaeological finds and confirmed links with the coastal site of Tiwi. The lecture also highlighted the implementation of experimental archaeology projects aimed at reconstructing Late Iron Age pottery production.
The lecture formed part of the Continuing Education Programme implemented by the National Museum’s Learning Centre, which offers specialised knowledge-based programmes that contribute to raising cultural awareness and strengthening the Museum’s role as an educational institution.
