The National Museum signs a memorandum of understanding with the National Museum of Tanzania in the cultural and museum fields
The National Museum and the National Museum of the United Republic of Tanzania signed a memorandum of understanding in the cultural and museum fields, at Al-Bustan Palace, in the presence of Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The memorandum was signed from the Omani side by Jamal bin Hassan al-Moosawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum, and from the Tanzanian side by Dr. Bindi Zahra Chana, Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism.
The memorandum of understanding aims to consolidate the principles of cooperation between the two parties regarding the development of cultural and museum fields of common interest, and to consolidate relations between the two parties through joint cooperation represented in the exchange of experiences and mutual understanding of the culture of the two countries.
The memorandum includes cooperation in a number of fields, including: the use of modern technologies in museum display techniques, the design and installation of permanent exhibitions, the development of storage operations for museum artefacts, associated equipment, and storage facilities, in addition to the design and installation of new preservation laboratories to treat museum collections, and develop skills recording the digital collection, developing inventory and documentation programs, as well as searching historical sites, using new research equipment, as well as training and capacity building programs.
