The National Museum Signs Cooperation Agreement with the State Hermitage Museum of the Russian Federation to Establish the “Hermitage – Sultanate of Oman Centre” in Dhofar

As part of the 11th St Petersburg International Cultural Forum, the National Museum and the State Hermitage Museum of the Russian Federation signed a cooperation agreement to establish the “Hermitage – Sultanate of Oman Centre” in Dhofar Governorate. The Centre will operate under the organisational structure of the National Museum, serving as a permanent platform for joint cultural and educational initiatives between the two friendly nations.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the National Museum by H.E. Jamal bin Hassan al-Moosawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum, and on behalf of the State Hermitage Museum by Professor Dr Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director-General of the Hermitage Museum and a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum.

The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Salim bin Mohammed al-Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum, and H.E. Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.
