The President of the Lebanese Republic Visits the National Museum of Oman
His Excellency General Joseph Aoun, President of the Republic of Lebanon, paid a visit on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, to the National Museum as part of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
His Excellency toured the various sections and galleries of the Museum, where he received a comprehensive briefing on the Museum and its contents, including galleries that highlight significant aspects of the history and civilisation of the Sultanate of Oman.
In the “Land and the People” Gallery, His Excellency viewed a collection of artefacts and documents that embody the depth of historical relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Lebanon. Among the most notable items were: letters of thanks and congratulations exchanged between Lebanese figures and the Sultans of Zanzibar, which discussed the gifting of books and the privilege of printing the newspaper Al-Iqbāl. His Excellency also viewed a box of currency presented by His Excellency General Émile Lahoud, former President of the Republic of Lebanon (1998–2007), to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said al-Said. He additionally examined a selection of Lebanese educational books from the 1960s.
