The Secretary-General of the National Museum Delivers a Lecture at Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah in Kuwait on the Social Dimension of the Museum

As part of the 30th Cultural Season of the Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah in the sisterly State of Kuwait, His Excellency Jamal bin Hassan al-Moosawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum, delivered a lecture on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, titled “The National Museum: A Social Dimension that Transcends the Traditional Museum Narrative.” The event was attended by Sheikha Hussa Sabah al-Salem, General Supervisor of Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah, His Excellency Ambassador Dr Saleh bin Amer al-Kharousi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Kuwait, along with a number of ambassadors and individuals interested in cultural and museum affairs.

His Excellency also presented the same lecture to students of the Faculty of Arts – Department of Archaeology at Kuwait University, contributing to the strengthening of academic engagement and enriching students’ knowledge in the field of museology. In his lecture, His Excellency highlighted the National Museum’s role in reinforcing the social and cultural fabric of the nation, and its vision of the museum as a social space that contributes to job creation, the enhancement of quality of life, and the development of essential infrastructure—bringing together authenticity and scientific standards to meet the challenges of the present and the future.
