The Secretary-General of the United Nations Visits the National Museum
The National Museum had the honor of the visit to His Excellency Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations. His Excellency was received by His Excellency Jamal bin Hassan al-Moosawi, the Secretary-General of the National Museum.
During his visit, His Excellency toured the Museum and its corridors, receiving a comprehensive explanation about it, and its various galleries highlighting the cultural heritage treasures of the Sultanate of Oman, and its role in engaging with the world, as part of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
He also viewed several artefacts, including the original will letter (No. 1) from the Sultan Qaboos bin Said addressed to the members of the Royal Family Council through the Defense Council, and an ornamental wall fragment, Presented by His Majesty Abdullah II bin al–Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, as well as a Model of the Dome of the Rock chapel gifted by the late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said in 1989.
